Jeff Gburek is a sound artist, composer, instrument builder & phonographer & traveler, born in the USA and based presently in Poznań, Poland. Foundationally a classical guitarist, he began using prepared guitar & contacts microphones and electronics more intently in his Berlin period (2000-2009) and in his work with dance theater, he began an exploration of room resonance, acoustic feedback, bio-feedback and enfolding environments where internal sounds are outwardly manifested or external sounds constrained and transformed, playing on the edges of noise and musical gesture. Rigs, set-ups for sound-creative environments include small synthesizers, cracked electronics, theremin, shortwave radios, walkie-talkies, various wind and percussion instruments, rotary stimulators, samplers, crystals, sea-shells, stones, fur, bones, ceramics, glass.
